In 2017, The New Yorker published a profile about care workers in New York City, focusing on their activism in marching with the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) in Washington, DC. The NDWA is an example of a worker center that helps defend the rights of non-unionized workers.

The Asian American Studies Center acknowledges the Gabrielino/Tongva peoples as the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar (Los Angeles basin, So.
